K-1 Fiance(e) Visa

K-1 visas are provided to those non-immigrant aliens who are planning on coming to the United States to marry and live with a US citizen. Therefore, the petitioner cannot be a green card holder. The couple must prove that they have met within thelast 2 years (unless it against their religion or would be a hardship) and the beneficiary must undergo a medical examination by a consular office panel physician.

Once the visa is issued, the beneficiary has 4 months to enter the US. Upon arrival, the marriage must occur within 90 days and there is no extension of this deadline. Once the couple is married, they may petition for a green card.
